Marquette Heads West To Face Utah, Montana

Weekend road swing includes pair of matches
The Marquette University men's tennis team (5-4) heads to Salt Lake City to face the University of Utah Utes (8-3) on Saturday, Feb. 23 and the University of Montana Grizzlies (3-3) on Sunday, Feb. 24.
The Golden Eagles are coming off a two-match weekend with a set of 6-1 wins over IUPUI and Chicago State.
Marquette swept singles versus Chicago St. in its last outing, earning first sets at each of the six positions. Junior Alexander Warstler was the first off the court, winning 6-1, 6-0 in his dual debut of the season. Junior Brett Meyers secured the team victory at No. 3 with a straight-set win of his own. Â
The Utes are coming off back-to-back victories from the weekend. The first victory comes against New Mexico with a score of 4-2, followed by the Utes defeating Idaho State 4-1.
The University of Montana dropped two matches last weekend. The 5-2 loss comes against Abilene Christian on Saturday and the Grizzlies fell short to Air Force on Sunday, 4-3, despite a late comeback attempt.
Following the weekend, the Golden Eagles are off until they welcome DePaul University to Helfaer Tennis Stadium on Saturday, March 9, with first serve slated for 7 p.m. Central time.
