
No. 11 Marquette Hosts Xavier on Senior Day

The Golden Eagles will honor their six seniors in a post-match ceremony
MILWAUKEE – The 11th ranked Marquette women's basketball team returns to the court on Sunday for its final regular season home game hosting Xavier at 2 p.m. CT airing live on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
Following the match Marquette will honor its six-member senior class, Allazia Blockton, Sandra Dahling, Erika Davenport, Natisha Hiedeman, Danielle King and Amani Wilborn.
The Golden Eagles (22-5, 13-2) dropped just its second BIG EAST game in a close 61-57 decision to Butler on Friday night. Blockton led three MU players in double figures with 14 points, while King added 10 and Lauren Van Kleunen notched her second career double-double adding 10 points and 11 rebounds, matching a career best.
A win will clinch the No. 1 seed in the BIG EAST Conference Tournament and guarantee at least a share of the regular season title.
Marquette closes league play on the road next weekend traveling to Creighton on Friday, March 1 at 7 p.m. CT.
THE SERIES
Marquette leads the all-time series, 13-7. The Musketeers have dropped six straight in the series. Xavier's last win over the Golden Eagles was on Jan. 15, 2016 at Cintas Center.

OPPONENT
XAVIER (11-15, 2-13 BIG EAST): Xavier fell at DePaul on Friday night, 81-48 and have won just three BIG EAST games this season. Sophomore A'riana Gray leads the BIG EAST in rebounding (11.2), while ranking 13th in scoring (13.2). The forward's 11.2 rebounds per game also ranks 18th nationally. Sophomore Aaliyah Dunham ranks ninth in the BIG EAST in assists (3.3) and seventh in assists-to-turnover ratio (1.9). The guard has also added 8.3 points per game this season.
