Eighteen earn Indoor All-BIG EAST honors

Eighteen Marquette student-athletes earned 22 all-conference accolades
NEW YORK - Eighteen Marquette University student-athletes earned 22 All-BIG EAST honors at the BIG EAST Indoor Track & Field Championships presented by Jeep this past weekend at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

The All-BIG EAST squad is comprised of BIG EAST competitors who finished in the top three in any individual or relay event at the championships.

Fifty-nine women and 61 men complete the list. A total of 31 student-athletes – 17 women, 14 men – earned all-conference for multiple events.

Four women received all-conference honors in three events: Butler senior Allie Vogeler, DePaul sophomore Kiersten Walker, St. John's sophomore Leah Anderson and Villanova freshman Reilly Seibert. For the men, sophomore Lawrence Leake from Georgetown was a three-event honoree as well as the High Point Performer of the Meet on the men's side. Villanova junior Casey Comber, the Men's Most Outstanding Performer in Track Evnts, also received all-league honors in three events.

On the women's side, the BIG EAST title-winner Villanova had a conference-best 16 student-athletes on the all-conference team. Butler had the second-most with 10.

For the men, BIG EAST champion Villanova had a league-high 17 all-conference honorees. Runner-up Marquette had the second-most with 12.

Of the 120, 29 were freshmen, 30 sophomores, 27 juniors and 34 seniors.
