The Golden Eagles will close a season-long seven-game road swing
MILWAUKEE--The Marquette women's tennis team will face two BIG EAST opponents this weekend and look to add more league wins to the season resume. The Golden Eagles will travel to DePaul on Friday, March 29 with first serve at 7 p.m. CT before continuing down to Indiana where the squad takes on Butler on Sunday, March 31 at 11 a.m. CT.
The Golden Eagles (8-8) have fallen in four straight contests and look to snap the skid this weekend. MU nearly pulled out a tight contest at Xavier, falling 4-3 though Alexandrina Chinikova, Fleur Eggink and Lesley Foe all scored for the team.
DePaul enters the weekend with just a 4-9 record having dropped three straight contests, but two of those victories are over BIG EAST opponents Georgetown and Butler. The match against the Golden Eagles marks the start of six league contests in-a-row heading into the BIG EAST Tournament.
Following a battle at DePaul Marquette travels to Butler where the Bulldogs (10-11) will host Providence on Saturday prior to Sunday's contest. Butler has not won a league contest this season and the Golden Eagles have won five straight contests since the Bulldogs joined the BIG EAST.
Marquette will return home for its final home weekend of the season beginning with a matchup against reigning conference champion St. John's on Friday, April 5 at 4 p.m. CT at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
