Play on the Vanderbilt Legends Course (Par 71, 7,100-yards) was paused twice on Sunday due to lightning in the Nashville metro area.
Host and fifth-ranked (GCAA Coaches Poll) Vanderbilt ran away with the win on its home course as the Commodores put together a 14-under-par 270 score in the final round, to reach 29-under-par in total, 17 strokes clear of second-place and No. 20 Liberty - the Flames shot the second-lowest score in the field on Sunday at 2-under-par. Western Kentucky's Billy Tom Sargent claimed medalist honors with a 12-under-par 201, thanks to a 4-under-par Sunday.
Scores were up on Sunday to 72.91, more than a stroke better than Friday's first round totals. Marquette, which was one of the nation's leaders in eagles entering the tournament, made a field-best five over 54 holes. Farrell made a tournament-leading three eagles.
The Golden Eagles open play in the ASU Thunderbird Invitational on Friday, hosted by Arizona State, with 36 holes at Papago G.C. in Phoenix.
