Three Marquette distance runners competed in Naperville on Day 1
NAPERVILLE, Ill.-- Three Marquette distance runners opened the Gregory Invitational in Naperville on Wednesday evening kicking off the two-day event for the Golden Eagles.
Jon KlaiberĀ and Stephen PoortenĀ competed in the 5,000m run with Klaiber taking 14th in 14:57.47, while Poorten clocked in at 15:48.01.Ā
In the final event of the evening, August Beyer crossed the finish line in fourth place in the 10,000m run with a time of 31:58.04.
Marquette track and field will be back in Naperville tomorrow with seven student-athletes competing beginning with Matt Cavanaugh in the men's 1,500mĀ at 5:30 p.m. CT.
