Senior Reflections: Noah Richard

Richard was a USILA All-America as a senior and was drafted in both the PLL and MLL
1. What is your proudest moment as a Marquette lacrosse player?Â
Noah Richard: My proudest moment as a Marquette lacrosse player was the 2017 BIG EAST tournament. Together we upset the number one seed Denver in the first round and went on to beat Providence in the championship. Winning that game with my brother and friends is something I won't forget.
2. What is your most memorable experience with the team?
Richard: It's tough to pick just one experience that I think is most memorable. I'll never forget the times just spent hanging out with the team on the bus, in the hotels, or before games. It's the moments that you least expect that turn out to be the ones that you miss most.Â
3. What's the best advice one of your coaches at MU has given you?Â
Richard: I've received a lot of advice during my time here, but I think what the coaches have taught me is to not just play the game to play. Play for someone or something that inspires you in the hopes of inspiring those that watch you. Love what you do.
4. What's the best advice a teammate has given you?Â
Richard: Best advice from a teammate would be to make the most out of the time you have with your friends. The relationships you make will last long after you graduate. Also, to put Nutella from Cobeen on the warm pita chips.Â
5. What's the best advice you could offer future Marquette lacrosse players?Â
Richard: To a future Marquette lacrosse player, I would say to give yourself to this place. Fully invest in your work and relationships and make the most of short time that you have. Give all that you have in all that you do and never forget to smile.Â
6. Most memorable game?
Richard: Two most memorable games are coming from behind to beat Denver after the rain delay in 2016 for the first championship, and also Providence 2018 when we came back down five in the fourth quarter and Griffin Fleming hits it to send it to OT.Â
7. Do you feel a rivalry developing with any opponents you have played?Â
Richard: Any Big East opponent always seems like a rival when we play them. The games are always close, but I think that there is a bit of a rivalry developing with Ohio State. We have been back and forth with them for the last couple of years and the games are always tough.
8. What have you learned that you will take with you as you move on from MU?
Richard: I've learned the importance of loving the process and loving the people around you.Â
9. What are your post-graduation plans?Â
Richard: After graduation I plan to travel and hopefully continue to play lacrosse. I'm not sure where I will end up, so I am just going to try to make the most of every day, one at a time, and make sure to keep in touch with my teammates and coaches. I hope to pursue a career in secondary education and possibly become a coach.Â
