Josh Coan Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

The senior forward had a hand in all three MU goals on Friday
NEW YORK – Senior forward Josh Coan earned a spot on the BIG EAST honor roll, the league office announced on Monday.

A senior from Indianapolis, Indiana, Coan broke out in a big way in Friday night's 3-1 victory over Northern Illinois. He scored two goals and assisted on the third, tallying a career-high five points.

With his team trailing 1-0, Coan netted a free kick for his first goal of the season to tie the game up in the 23rd minute. He set up fellow senior Connor Alba to put the Golden Eagles ahead in the 31st minute before scoring his second goal of the game on another set piece just 45 seconds later.

Coan's selection to the BIG EAST honor roll is the second of his career. He also garnered honor roll accolades on Oct. 29, 2018 after he scored the game-winning goal in a key road victory at Butler.

The senior striker and the Golden Eagles have a busy week, starting with a road game at Milwaukee for the Milwaukee Cup tomorrow night at 7 p.m. MU will be back at home for its BIG EAST lidlifter against Creighton on Friday, Sept. 20 at 7:35 p.m.
