Fleur Eggink Named BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week

The senior picks up her first weekly honor of the season
NEW YORK-- Marquette University senior Fleur Eggink has been chosen as BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Eggink began her senior season with a perfect 4-0 combined record to lead the Golden Eagles squad to a 2-0 mark. In MU's 6-1 victory over UIC, she took down Lejla Colic in straight sets at No. 1 singles 7-6, 6-2 after partnering with Natalija Popovic at No. 1 doubles for a 6-2 rout of the Flames' tandem. Eggink returned to the court in the afternoon to partner with Giulia Turconi at No. 1 doubles for a 6-2 victory before defeating Green Bay's Yasmin Glazbrook 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
Marquette returns to action at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium for a pair of matches this weekend beginning on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 3 p.m. CT against Michigan State.
