Eddie Erkmanis | 1999-01 | Milwaukee
Â
Current Location:Â
Currently living in San Diego with my wife Andrea and raising our three kids, Tomas, Mila and Dahlia. From chasing our three kids between soccer practice, the beach and the golf course, I continue to enjoy cheering on the Marquette Golden Eagles and the Green Bay Packers from the West Coast!
Employer/Profession/Career Path:
After graduating from Marquette, I worked as an agent at Sports Marketing and Management Group in Milwaukee. During my time working as an agent in the sports business, I had the privilege of working with NFL, NCAA coaches and professional golfers, which included Packers HOF player LeRoy Buter, PGA Tour Winner Mark Wilson, NCAA Basketball Coach Bruce Pearl and First Round NFL Player Joe Thomas. While navigating player negotiations, I had an opportunity to work closely with and develop relationships with many companies within the sports world.
Thru one of these very important relationships, I received an opportunity to work for TaylorMade Golf in their Global Sports Marketing department. I began my career at TaylorMade overseeing our developmental and collegiate programs in identifying talent and recruiting the future young stars of the game. Today I am the Vice President of TaylorMade's Global Sports Marketing department. Day to day, I get to lead our tour strategic initiatives, contract negotiations and manage the relationships of our tour team. Our tour team around the world includes: 15-time major champion Tiger Woods, current world No. 1 player Dustin Johnson, 4-time Major Champion Rory McIlroy, current PGA Champion Collin Morikawa and rising star Matthew Wolff. One of the things I enjoy most about my job and career, is that each day brings a new challenge.
Marquette Memory:
I have so many memories, but the memories that stick with me the most are the golf trips, long practices and van rides with my teammates. The relationships and memories created, competing on and off the golf course, will always be fondly remembered. Even the conditioning runs to Lake Michigan and those early morning work-out sessions in the "Old Gym." Reflecting back on my times at MU, I appreciate most the culture Marquette creates for students, the demanding curriculum and the professors that guided my development as a young man. I can honestly say I would not be where I am today without Dean Joe Terrian's Sports Marketing class, where I was not only able to meet inspiring and successful individuals from the sports world, but it is in his classroom where I developed my love and dedication for the business of sport. I continue to stay close with many from the Marquette community, especially with Coach "Champ" Bailey and the Marquette Golf Team. We are Marquette!Â
Fun Fact:
Hard to admit, but in my current situation I watch more Peppa Pig and Barbie Dreamhouse than any sports programming on TV!
