Golden Eagles notch third straight victory
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Marquette University women's tennis team won their third straight match on Sunday afternoon as they defeated Western Michigan 5-2.
The Golden Eagles (5-5) won the doubles point behind a 6-3 victory from Natalija Popovic and Fleur Eggink, as well as a 6-4 victory from Lesley Foe and Tiana Windbuchler.
Each of Marquette's singles wins on the day were decided in two sets. Both Fleur Eggink and Isabella Franks claimed the point in the No. 1 and 2 spots, while Natalija Popovic and Milica Novakovic found victory in the No. 5 and 6 spots.
The Golden Eagles, who snapped a three-match winning streak for the Mustangs (5-5), will return home to take on DePaul this Thursday. Doubles are slated to begin at 5 p.m. CT.
