
MTEN Welcomes Xavier, UIC This Weekend

First serve set for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, 1 p.m. on Sunday
The Marquette University men's tennis team (5-4) continues its three-game homestand this weekend with two matches against Xavier and UIC.
The Golden Eagles are set to face off against the Musketeers on Saturday, Feb. 29 at 3:30 p.m. CT and the Flames on Sunday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m. CT. Both matches will be at the Helfaer Tennis Center.
"We are looking forward to the opportunity to defend our home court against a pair of quality opponents this weekend," head coach Steve Rodecap said. "We are going to have some guys in new positions and I am excited to see how they respond in competition."
MU is coming off a 5-2 win over Creighton this past Saturday, claiming a trio of straight-set wins by Luke Smrek, Brett Meyers and Stefan Dragovic.
Xavier is 4-7 on the season overall, with its wins coming over Northern Kentucky, Wright State, IUPUI, and Thomas More. UIC is 1-6 thus far, with its lone win coming over Northern Illinois.
Following this weekend's action, the Golden Eagles head to Orlando, Fla. to match up against the University of North Carolina Wilmington on March 9, at 11 a.m. ET.
