The Marquette University men's tennis team (6-4) defeated Xavier (4-8) by a score of 6-1 Saturday afternoon at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles opened the match by claiming the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and 3.
Claiming singles wins for the Golden Eagles were seniors Luke Smrek, Brandon Shanklin and Brett Meyers and freshman Stefan Dragovic and junior Luis Heredia Gomez.
MU wraps up its three-match homestand Sunday at 1 p.m. against UIC.
