Golden Eagles win their fifth straight contest
MILWAUKEE-- The Marquette women's tennis team continued its hot streak and topped Xavier, 4-3 on Saturday afternoon, winning a fifth straight contest.
After dropping the doubles point, the Golden Eagles (7-5) played tough in singles and earned the four points they needed for victory. In the No. 1 spot Fleur Eggink made quick work of her opponent with a 6-2, 6-2 victory, while Milica Novakovic followed in the No. 2 position, 6-2, 6-3. Lesley Foe came through with a 6-2, 6-4 win on the No. 6 court and Giulia Turconi earned the match-clinching win with a 6-3, 7-6 victory at position No. 5.
Marquette has defeated all three BIG EAST opponents that the squad has faced.
