Jauch picks up first collegiate win
The Marquette University men's tennis team (0-2) dropped a 6-1 decision to Omaha (2-0) on Saturday afternoon at Helfaer Tennis Stadium in non-conference action.
The Mavericks claimed a 5-2 victory on Friday night in the season opener.Β The Golden Eagles were playing with a limited roster for the second-straight day, without the services of a majority of the program's returnees.
Omaha opened the match by claiming the doubles point for the second-straight day, earning wins at all three positions.Β The Mavericks also earned a trio of straight-set singles decisions to claim the team victory.
Freshman Jan Jauch claimed a victory in his collegiate debut, downing UNO's Julian Kenzlers 6-4, 2-6, 6-0 at the No. 6 position.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, Jan. 29 when the team hosts IUPUI.
