
WTEN Edges UIC 4-3, Earns First Win

Weise clinches decision with first career victory
The Marquette University women's tennis team (1-1) picked up its first win of the season with a 4-3 decision over UIC (0-1) Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The match would come down to the No. 2 singles position, where freshman Andie Weise was able to rally for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over UIC's Agnes Gustafson to clinch the deciding point. Weise, who also helped Marquette claim the doubles point, claimed her first collegiate victory on Saturday.
Also earning singles wins for Marquette were Giulia Turconi and Elizabeth Ferdman, who were straight-set winners at the No. 1 and No. 5 positions, respectively.
The team returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 6 when it hosts Milwaukee.
