Short Series Has Plenty Of HighlightsÂ
  Â
Marquette has faced UConn on just nine occasions all-time, but the limited series has already provided a number of memories.
  Â
The Golden Eagles own a 6-3 advantage, dating back to the program's first year in the BIG EAST in 2005-06.  MU hosted the Huskies at the Bradley Center on Jan. 3, 2006 in the team's first home game as a member of the BIG EAST Conference.  Steve Novak finished with 41 points and 16 rebounds and Jerel McNeal chipped in 19 points and 12 boards in a 94-79 Marquette victory over No. 2 UConn to hand the Huskies their first loss of the season.
  Â
Other series highlights include a game-winning shot by Jimmy Butler with three seconds left in a 70-68 win on the road on Jan. 30, 2010 and an overtime win by Marquette at home in the most recent matchup on Jan. 1, 2013 when Junior Cadougan forced the extra session on at 3-pointer as time expired in regulation.
  Â
At least one of the teams has been nationally ranked in 7-of-9 outings.
Marquette Rallies For Win At Georgetown
  Â
Marquette trailed by 16 points (36-20) at the intermission and by as many as 18 points early in the second half before a furious rally resulted in a 64-60 victory on the road.
  Â
The deficit was the largest the team has overcome since trailing Purdue by 18 points late in the first half on Nov. 13, 2019 before rallying for a 65-55 win at Fiserv Forum.
