Golf concludes final round of fall season at Purdue Fall Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana – The Marquette University men's golf team concluded its fall season on Tuesday afternoon with an eighth place finish in the Purdue Fall Invitational at Kampen Golf Course.
The Golden Eagles sat in a tie for ninth at the conclusion of the first round and second round play was halted Monday evening with MU's lineup through seven holes. Action resumed Tuesday morning and the Golden Eagles responded to close the second round with a 3-under 285 to climb to sixth.
Graduate student Hunter Eichhorn led the Golden Eagles for the third time this season with a 2-over 218 (75-72-71) after Tuesday's second round of even par and a 1-under 71 final round. He tied for 22nd.
Freshman Max Lyons posted Marquette's best round of the tournament with a 4-under 68 second round, which included five birdies. He tied for 28th at 4-over-par.
Tyler Leach led the Golden Eagles with 12 birdies through 54 holes and tied for 31st with a 5-over 221 (76-73-72).
