The Marquette University men's basketball team (4-0, 0-0 BIG EAST) continues play at the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic with a semifinal matchup against West Virginia (3-0, 0-0 Big 12) at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, Nov. 19. ESPN2 features the national television broadcasts, with Rich Hollenberg (play-by-play) and Debbie Antonelli (analyst) calling the action. The winner of Friday's matchup advances to the championship game at 6 p.m. CT on Sunday, Nov. 21 in TD Arena.
Marquette Meets Former League Opponent
Marquette owns a 7-4 advantage in the all-time series with West Virginia, with the last meeting coming in 2011-12 when both programs were members of the BIG EAST Conference.
The series dates back to the 1965-66 campaign, with all but three of the matchups coming after the Golden Eagles joined the BIG EAST in 2005-06. Marquette claimed the most recent matchup, earning a narrow 61-60 decision at West Virginia on Feb. 24, 2012.
Marquette head coach Shaka Smart is 7-6 all time against WVU, with all of the matchups coming in league play when he was head coach at Texas.

In the first three games of the season, freshman guard Kam Jones collected a total of 15 points and hadn't scored more than six in any single game.
The Cordova, Tennessee, native scored a personal-best 18 points in 25 minutes off the bench in the win over Ole Miss, surpassing his previous single-game high midway through the first half. He also chipped in three assists and a rebound and his pair of first-half treys helped Marquette dig out of a 12-point deficit.
