MU owns a 9-3 edge in the all-time series with the Huskies and is riding a six-game winning streak against UConn. Both of this regular season's matchups were Marquette wins, each coming in four sets.
Marquette dominated in the opening frame, capturing the first set 25-14 on 13 kills. After the Huskies tied the second stanza at 9-9, MU stormed back into the lead and took the frame by seven points. It was all Golden Eagles in set three, jumping out to a 13-2 lead and cruising to a three-set sweep.
MU, conference regular season co-champion alongside Creighton, is in search of its first BIG EAST tournament crown since it captured both the regular season and tournament titles in 2013. The Golden Eagles are hosting the league tournament for the first time since 2019 and have hosted six times previously.Â
