D.J. Carton leads three players in double figures with 16 points.
The Marquette University men's basketball team (9-12, 5-10 BIG EAST) dropped an 57-51 decision at Seton Hall (12-8, 9-5 BIG EAST) on Sunday afternoon in BIG EAST action.
D.J. Carton led the way with 16 points Theo John chipped in 14 points and seven rebounds. Guard Koby McEwen narrowly missed his third career double-double, chipping in 11 points and nine boards.
The Golden Eagles struggled offensively the entire afternoon, finishing the game 30.0 percent from the floor overall and 12.0 percent from behind the 3-point line.
Marquette trailed 26-20 at the intermission after shooting just 26.7 percent (8-of-30) from the floor in the opening 20 minutes. The team's point total was the lowest since scoring in an overtime loss at Providence on Jan. 27.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 5:30 p.m. CT when the team travels to Butler. FS1 and ESPN Milwaukee will provide complete coverage.
