Four players finish in double figures for MU
The Marquette University men's basketball team (10-12, 6-10 BIG EAST) claimed a 73-57 win over Butler (7-12, 6-10 BIG EAST) Wednesday night in BIG EAST Conference action from Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Greg Elliott led the way offensively with a career-high 17 points points and forward Jamal Cain collected his second career double-double, finishing with 14 points and 14 rebounds (personal best).Â
Marquette led 41-25 the intermission thanks to a balanced scoring attack that saw eight players contribute points. Guard Greg Elliott led the way with 10 points in his first start of the season and sixth of his career. The Golden Eagles shot 50.0 percent from the floor in the opening half and held the Bulldogs to just 28.6 percent.
The Golden Eagles are off for 10 days until returning to action at UConn on Feb. 27.
