Marquette plans on four meets this spring
The Marquette University men's and women's track & field teams will open their respective 2021 seasons on Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Parkside Triangular in Kenosha, Wis.
Along with the host Rangers and Golden Eagles, Milwaukee will also be participating in the event. The competition will mark the first for Marquette since both programs finished second at the 2020 BIG EAST Conference Indoor Championships. The outdoor season last spring and fall cross country schedule were both cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns.
"We are very excited to get back into competition mode," head coach Bert Rogers said. "It's been a long journey to get here, but here we are, ready to get after it.
"I'm very proud of how well the team has rolled with all the changes to our practice process due to COVID," Rogers added. "The team just comes to practice every day ready to work."
Competition begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday with the weight throw and is scheduled to conclude at 6:30 p.m. with the 4x400m relay. The day's action will be available online at the following link.
Marquette, which only began working out in recent weeks, will send limited competitors in a variety of events. The teams are currently scheduled to compete in four indoor events this spring.
