MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's golf team heads to Palm City, Florida for the Valspar Collegiate at Floridian National Golf Course on March 15-16.

THE EVENT
The Valspar Collegiate is hosted by the University of Houston in Palm City, Florida and features some of the nation's top men's golf programs. Eight of the 11 squads are ranked or receiving votes in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches' Poll, headlined by No. 3 Florida State, T-4 Arizona State, No. 6 Pepperdine and No. 8 Clemson. The Golden Eagles faced ASU and Pepperdine in their last tournament at The Prestige On Feb. 14-17 in La Quinta, California.

THE COURSE
The par-71 Floridian plays at 7,114 yards and the 18-hole course offers perfectly manicured rolling fairways and greens, demanding hazards, breathtaking views of the St. Lucie River, and is surrounded by natural preserve and native wildlife.
Head coach Steve Bailey: "Our guys have made great progress the past two weeks and we are eager to tee it up at The Floridian. The Valspar event boasts one of the strongest fields in college golf at a world class course."

MARQUETTE'S LINEUP
The Prestige: Hunter Eichhorn, Tyler Leach, Aidan Lafferty, Nicolás Evangelio, Josh Robinson

The Golden Eagles have played three events this spring, beginning with a 3-0 record at a BIG EAST Match Play event on Feb. 1-2 in Bellair, Florida against UConn, Seton Hall and DePaul. Marquette also faced Nevada in a match play contest in California on Feb. 13 before playing in The Prestige on Feb. 15-17 at the PGA West - Norman Course in La Quinta, California.
Redshirt freshman Aidan Lafferty led Marquette at The Prestige in a tie for 29th place while playing from the No. 3 spot in the lineup. He shot a 4-over 217 for the event, including first and second rounds of par or better. All-American Hunter Eichhorn continues play at the No. 1 spot after a second-place team finish at The Prestige, while Tyler Leach is MU's No. 2 once again this weekend. Both Eichhorn and Leach joined Lafferty under par in their first rounds at The Prestige.
NAIA transfer Nicolás Evangelio has impressed in his transition to NCAA Division I and played well during MU's fall training schedule and early season match play.
Josh Robinson rounds out the MU lineup in the No. 5 spot and freshman Scott Schlader will play as an individual.

Marquette will have one week off before traveling to Awendaw, South Carolina to take part in the Hootie Collegiate at Bulls Bay Golf Club in an event hosted by the University of South Carolina.

THE COURSE

The course presents members with a secluded oasis that meanders throughout one of South Florida's most spectacular properties.
In addition to the Championship golf course, The Harmon Par 3 Course was completed in December of 2017. The Harmon Course is located on the intracoastal and St. Lucie River.
