Golf competes in Hootie Intercollegiate March 28-30

MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's golf team will travel to Awendaw, South Carolina to participate in the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate Golf Tournament on March 28-30.

THE EVENT
The Hootie is hosted at Bulls Bay Golf Club in the greater Charleston area and features some of the nation's top men's golf programs. The event is jointly hosted by the University of South Carolina and College of Charleston, but also includes Duke, Kentucky, Purdue, Auburn, N.C. State and Wisconsin, among others.

Friday, March 26 and Saturday, March 27 will serve as practice rounds before the tournament gets underway on Sunday at 9 a.m. Central time on both the front and back nine. The second round is slated for Monday at 8 a.m. CT, while Tuesday's final round is set for 7 a.m. CT.

THE COURSE
Amid windswept savannahs and centuries old live oaks lies a course that entwines the ultimate in atmosphere and course design. In the tradition of MacKenzie, Mike Strantz created an extraordinary layout that thrills each and every round. Bulls Bay offers the premier club experience in all the Lowcountry and is situated minutes from downtown Charleston.

MARQUETTE'S LINEUP
The Prestige: Hunter Eichhorn, Tyler Leach, Aidan Lafferty, Nicolás Evangelio, Josh Robinson

The Golden Eagles trot out their same lineup from two weeks ago at the Valspar Collegiate in Florida. Hunter Eichhorn shot a team tournament-low 69 (2-under) in the third and final round to end his week atop the MU leaderboard at 8-over with a 221. Aidan Lafferty, playing in the No. 3 spot, finished as MU's No. 2 at Valspar Collegiate after leading the Golden Eagles in their first event ath The Prestige in California.

Josh Robinson rounds out the MU lineup in the No. 5 spot after a third-place finish on the squad at the Valspar Collegiate with 3-over 74s in both the first and third rounds.

UP NEXT
Marquette will have five days off before traveling to traveling to Naples, Florida to take part in the Calusa Invitational hosted by the University of Iowa at Calusa Pines Golf Club.
