Weise, Kojcic claim singles wins
The Marquette University women's tennis team (4-4) opened its weekend road swing with a 5-2 loss to Creighton (4-2) Friday afternoon at the Hanscom Tennis Center.
The Golden Eagles will return to action on Saturday, March 6 at Omaha. First serve is set for 1:40 p.m. CT.
The Bluejays were able to open the match with a 1-0 advantage after claiming the doubles point with a 7-5 win at the No. 3 position and quickly collected enough singles decisions to clinch the team victory.
Freshmen Andie Weise and Emilija Kojcic were the only Golden Eagles to claim singles wins. Weise posted a 7-6, 6-2 win at the No. 3 spot and Kojcic claimed her own match in similar fashion, 7-6, 6-1.
