Brielle Buechler sets new program pole vault mark
The Marquette University track and field teams completed another successful weekend in the outdoor campaign with school records, top-10 performances and event titles at a pair of meets.
Â
The program was represented at both the Warrior Invitational and the Warhawk Invitational and Multi, hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran and UW-Whitewater, respectively.
Â
Highlights include a new school record in the pole vault by Brielle Buechler, who cleared a height of 12-8.75 to finish in first place and break the previous mark (12-8.25, Julie Clayton) at MU set in 2018.
"Both teams had a solid weekend of competition," head coach Bert Rogers said. "I'm very happy for Brielle breaking the school record. She has worked incredibly hard and it's great to see success coming her way."
Â
One week after Joe Keys set the new school record in the decathlon, Simon Werven collected his personal-best total of 6327 to finish third at the event and claim the No. 6 spot in Marquette history.
