Homestand continues at 7 p.m. CT
The Marquette University women's soccer team (3-3-0) wraps up the non-conference portion of its 2021 campaign on Friday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. CT when the team hosts North Dakota State (0-5-1) at Valley Fields.
MU has claimed back-to-back shutout results in the first two outings of the home stretch, defeating UIC, 1-0, and St. Thomas, 3-0.
BALANCED SCORING EARLY IN 2021
Through six matches, the Golden Eagles roster features six different players who have scored at least one goal and a total of eight responsible for points. A trio of players (Katrina Wetherell, Maggie Starker, Rachel Johnson) tops the roster with a pair of markers and senior Kylie Sprecher paces the squad with two assists.
EASTER SEES MAJORITY OF ACTION IN NET
Redshirt freshman Mikki Easter split time in with Lauren Schill in 2020-21, posting a 3-1-0 record in five total matches. She has already matched her appearance total from last year and has now surpassed her total minutes play. Through six outings, Easter owns a 0.64 goals-against-average and has made a team-best 20 saves.
SPRECHER NAMED TO BIG EAST HONOR ROLL
Kylie Sprecher was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday afternoon. Sprecher led the defense, which earned back-to-back shutout wins last week, outshooting its opponents 15-4 on goal; added an assist in Sunday's win over St. Thomas (Minn.).
UP NEXT:Â The Golden Eagles, who are in the midst of a four-match homestand, begin BIG EAST Conference play on Thursday, Sept. 23 against Butler.
