
WSOC Travels To Creighton, Hosts Seton Hall This Week

Golden Eagles face Bluejays at 7 p.m. CT Thursday night
The Marquette University women's soccer team (5-4-0) travels to Omaha, Nebraska, on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. CT for a meeting with Creighton (6-3-2) before coming back home for a matinee match against Seton Hall (6-4-0) on Sunday, Oct. 3 at noon CT.
The Golden Eagles have taken four of their last five matches and have outscored opponents 8-2 during that span.
STARKER, JOHNSON CONTINUE TO IMPRESS
Maggie Starker and Rachel Johnson both scored their third goals of the season last Sunday in Marquette's 3-1 over Villanova. Elsi Twombly also found the back of the net in the 21st minute to help MU claim its first conference victory of the season. Johnson was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday after finishing with three points in the win against the Wildcats.
SHOTS TELL THE STORY
When Frank Pelaez's squad records double-digit shot attempts, it comes out on top. The Golden Eagles have tallied at least 10 shots in all five of their wins this season and are outscoring opponents 12-4 when they do so.
Marquette has taken 105 shots as a team thus far, with 73% of them coming throughout the five wins.

The Golden Eagles are 5-5-3 all-time against the Bluejays in a series that dates back to 1993. Creighton has taken the last two meetings between the two teams, with the most recent win coming on April 1, 2021.
