Badawi clinches team victory
The Marquette University women's tennis team (1-2) picked up its first dual victory of the campaign on Friday afternoon with a 7-0 (0-3) decision over Chicago State in non-conference action at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
Marquette claimed the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and 3 positions and Sarah Badawi clinched the team win with a 7-6, 6-2 effort at the No. 6 spot over Katarina Drazic. Four players posted straight-set wins, including a dominant 6-0, 6-0 decision by Natalija Popovic at No. 1.
UP NEXT: Marquette travels to Minnesota for a 10 a.m. CT first serve on Sunday, Jan. 23.
