Golden Eagles have defeated three ranked foes in their last three games
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's basketball team defeated the No. 20 Xavier Musketeers, 75-64, on Sunday afternoon at Fiserv Forum to continue a six-game winning streak.
The victory is MU's fifth over an Associated Press Top-25 opponent this season, including three in a row over ranked BIG EAST foes.Â
Justin Lewis led the Golden Eagles (14-6, 6-3 BIG EAST) with his fifth career double double, posting 20 points and 13 rebounds.
Guard Darryl Morsell added 19 points and a career-high seven assists for the Golden Eagles, while freshman Kam Jones totaled 12 points.
For Xavier (14-4, 4-3 BIG EAST), Paul Scruggs paced the team with 13 points, with Colby Jones and Adam Kunkel contributing 12 each.
Marquette combined for 46.8% on field goals while holding Xavier to 38.7% from the field and 26.1% from beyond the arc.

- During a special halftime presentation, the Golden Eagles honored the 2022 M Club Hall of Fame class, including former guard Dominic James and head coach Tom Crean.
- Marquette maintains a 55-26Â lead in the all-time series, going back to the 1958-59 season.Â
- The Golden Eagles have had great success when hosting matchups against the Musketeers, now owning a 31-8 record.
- Last time against the Musketeers, guard Greg Elliott paced Marquette with 18 points. On Sunday, he played 14 minutes and added five points.

- Freshman guard Stevie Mitchell contributed big minutes off the bench for the Golden Eagles, totaling five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 16 minutes.
- The win streak is Marquette's longest since an eight game winning streak during the 2018-19 season from Jan. 6-30.
