MU looking for valuable points in league standings
The Marquette University women's soccer team (7-6-2, 3-3-1 BIG EAST) wraps up the road portion of its regular-season schedule this week with a pair of outings.

The Golden Eagles travel to nationally ranked Georgetown (11-1-4, 7-0-1 BIG EAST) on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. CT. MU will then travel to St. John's for a 12 p.m. CT matchup on Sunday, Oct. 23.
MU To Face BIG EAST's BestÂ

Marquette enters this week's action in possession of the final spot in the league tournament, but will be looking for more points against the top programs in the standings. Â

Each of the top six teams will compete for the conference's automatic NCAA bid, with the top-two seeds earning a bye into the semifinals.

The Golden Eagles, who are in possession of 10 points, face each of the top three teams in the BIG EAST standings to conclude the campaign. Â Nationally ranked Georgetown has yet to be defeated, Xavier is in second with just one loss and St. John's owns the third position. Â The trio of teams has combined for a 16-2-5 record in BIG EAST action.

The Golden Eagles are 3-9-1 all-time against Georgetown and havent' defeated the Hoyas since a 4-0 win in 2013. Â During that nine-match run, MU has netted just three goals.

Marquette owns a 16-6-1 record against the Red Storm and has claimed each of the last six outings. Â MU held on for a 4-3 win in Milwaukee last season, netting the game-winner by Katrina Wetherell in the 98th minute.Â

The program has collected nearly 375 wins during its tenure and participated in the NCAA tournament on 13 occasions. Â MU has claimed 10 regular season league titles in Conference USA and BIG EAST action and four conference tournament titles.

Individual success includes 119 all-conference honorees, 49 all-region selections, 19 national team appearances and 17 All-America accolades.Â
