
Konen and Ludington to Compete at Illini Open

The women's 5k will begin at 3 p.m. CT
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women's cross country team will be sending representatives to Champaign for the Illini Open on Friday, Oct. 21.
The women's 5k race will begin at 3 p.m. CT at the University of Illinois Arboretum. Live timing for the races will be done by Shazam Racing.
Gianna Konen and Carol Ludington will be representing MU and get their last action of the season until the start of the indoor track & field season. Both Konen and Ludington are coming of career best performances at the Bradley "Pink" Classic.
Konen was the top finisher for MU in the women's white race last weekend at Bradley. The Hartland, Wisconsin native made her way around the 6k course in a personal best time of 24:16.5 to take 68th overall.
Ludington finished the course at Bradley in a time of 25:12.3 to beat her previous best time by over two minutes. The freshman will be looking to improve upon her 5k PR of 21:48.6 that she ran in the season opener at Eastern Illinois.

On Saturday, Oct. 29 the Golden Eagles will be in Attleboro, Massachusetts for the BIG EAST Championships.
