Golden Eagles represented at Spartan Invite
The Marquette University women's tennis team continued their fall campaign this past weekend in East Lansing, Michigan to compete in the Spartan invite hosted by Michigan State.
The action was organized in a dynamic duo format, in which players advanced based on their combined efforts as a two-person tandem in both doubles and singles play.
"I enjoy the team component of the event and our team really bought into it and played hard for each other," director of tennis Steve Rodecap said. "We certainly took some steps forward this weekend and I know they are committed to working on improving some areas of their games that need to be cleaned up." Â
The Golden Eagles finished 9-3 in doubles matches on the weekend. The duo of Lara Kaiser/Andie Weise went 2-0 in their doubles matches. In singles matches Andie Weise went undefeated at the event. Newcomer Emma Davis continues to have an impressive beginning to her collegiate career, the freshman from Mokena, Illinois owns a 5-1 record in singles matches and has notched one doubles win alongside junior Sarah Badawi during the team's fall campaign.
UP NEXT:Â Marquette returns to action on Oct. 7-9 when the team travels to Evanston, Illinois to take part in the Northwestern Invitational.
