Marquette tennis teams in action at a pair of events
The Marquette men's and women's tennis teams continued their respective fall campaigns this past weekend at a pair of events.
The men's team traveled to the Ball State Redbird Invite (Oct. 7-9) and the women's team participated in the Wildcat Invite (Oct. 7-9), a dynamic duo event hosted by Northwestern.Â
"We saw a lot of great things from both of our teams this weekend," director of tennis Steve Rodecap said. "I believe we are taking steps forward this fall and I know that both teams are extremely committed to getting better each day as we prepare for our regular season."
Marquette sent eight men's players to BSU and six women's players competed at Northwestern.
In singles play Pablo Dale notched three wins including one tiebreaker victory. Freshman Thomas Nelson and junior Ian Brady went undefeated in doubles action and won their flight.
On the women's side, Tiana Windbuchler and Nicole Hopman competed together in doubles action and earned two early wins in their dynamic duo matches but fell short in the finals to South Florida.
UP NEXT:Â Marquette men's tennis returns to action on Oct. 14-16 when the team travels to Toledo, Ohio to take part in the Toledo Invitational.
