Golden Eagles head to Florida for tourney action on Monday
The Marquette University men's basketball team (3-1, 0-0 BIG EAST) won against LIU (1-2, 0-0 NEC) on Thursday night back at Fiserv Forum.
Junior Forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper led all scores going into the half with 13 points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field. He ended the game with a career-high of 31 points, only missing one shot. Prosper is the first 30-point scorer since Justin Lewis scored 33 points against Georgetown (1/26/22).
Oso Ighodaro tacked on a career-high six assists combined with six boards, three blocks and 11 points. MU shot 50 percent from the field on the night and led by as many as 42 points.Â
The Sharks were led by Marko Maletic with 22 points on 8-of-20 shooting. LIU was held to 31 percent (20-of-63) on shot attempts .
Notables:
- Kam Jones tied his career-high of three steals
- MU leading scorer David Joplin had 12 points at halftime
- Keeyan Itejere had a career-high of four points
- Tyler Kolek continues his streak of having eight or more assists this season
- MU celebrated Native American Heritage Night by sporting its Nike N7 turquoise jerseys for the first time this season.
