Golden Eagles host nationally ranked Baylor Tuesday night
The Marquette University men's basketball team (5-2, 0-0 BIG EAST) opened a four-game homestand with a 82-68 victory against Chicago State (2-6) Saturday night at Fiserv Forum.

Marquette was led by forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper with 18 points and he also collected his first career double-double with 11 boards. Guard Kam Jones added 15 points and Oso Ighodaro 13 points.

MU opened the second half with a 10-0 run to take control of the game, holding the Cougars scoreless for first 5:45 of the second half. The defense clamped down on the Chicago State offensive attacked following intermission, allowing the Cougars to shoot just 34.6 percent from the floor and creating 10 turnovers.

The Golden Eagles held a 40-33 advantage at the intermission, courtesy of 11 points from Jones. All of the nine players who saw action scored at least two points and MU assisted on 13-of-17 baskets. CSU shot 51.9 percent from the floor and was able to close to within seven points at the break.

Marquette returns to action Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. CT when the team hosts nationally ranked Baylor at Fiserv Forum in the Big 12-BIG EAST Battle series.
