Chloe Marotta Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Senior forward averaged 21.0 points, 13.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists last week
NEW YORK — Marquette senior forward Chloe Marotta has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for her role in a pair of games last week, the league office announced Monday morning. In a pair of road contests to open league play, Marotta averaged 21.0 points, 13.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists per outing. At Georgetown on Friday, she neared a triple-double finishing with 12 points, 14 rebounds and a career high-tying eight assists. She followed that performance up with a career-high 30 point outing against Seton Hall, along with 12 boards and three assists.
This is Marotta's first weekly honor of the season, and the second BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll appearance of her career.
BIG EAST Player of the Week
Lauren Park-Lane, Seton Hall, Sr., G
Park-Lane averaged 27.5 points and 6.5 assists in BIG EAST wins at Xavier and over No. 24 Marquette last week. The senior guard opened conference play with a 24-point, six-assist showing against the Musketeers on Friday, before scoring 31 points and dishing seven assists in Sunday's top-25 upset win over the Golden Eagles. Park-Lane's scoring average last week was tops among BIG EAST players with multiple game appearances. Her 31-point outing against Marquette was her second 30-point game of the season, tied for the most in the BIG EAST. She currently ranks third in the league in scoring (21.6) and assists (5.9).
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Kennedy Fauntleroy, Georgetown, Fr., G
Fauntleroy was the BIG EAST's top-scoring freshman last week, averaging 19.5 points off .467 shooting. She began the stretch with 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals on Friday against No. 24 Marquette before going for a career-high 28 points off 11-of-15 shooting in Sunday's win over Xavier. Against the Musketeers she added five assists, four steals and three rebounds. Fauntleroy's 28 points are the most by a BIG EAST freshman in a single game this season.
