Golden Eagles conclude homestand March 5 vs. Illinois State
The Marquette University women's tennis team (6-6) picked up a 5-2 win against UIC (4-3) Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. The MU tandem of Andie Weise and Lara Kaiser clinched the point with a 6-3 victory at No. 2.
Natalija Popovic moved MU ahead 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles and after UIC got on the board, Elizabeth Ferdman gave Marquette a 3-1 advantage with a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 4.
Lara Kaiser clinched the team victory with a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 6.
UP NEXT:Â Marquette concludes a three-match homestand on Saturday, March 5 against Illinois State.
