WTEN Drops Tough 4-3 Decision To Butler

Golden Eagles travel to BIG EAST tourney next week
The Marquette University women's tennis team (12-9) dropped a tough 4-3 decision to Butler (8-13) Saturday afternoon at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
Marquette rallied to claim the doubles point, with the duo of Elisabeth Desmarais an Elizabeth Ferdman clinching the point with a 6-3 win at No. 3 after falling behind 3-0 to begin the match.
Lara Kaiser moved MU ahead 2-0 with a quick 6-1, 6-3 decision at No. 5 and senior Natalija Popovic was able to claim a 7-6, 7-6 win at No. 1, but Butler was able to rally for the team victory.
The Golden Eagles will travel to Cayce, S.C. next week for the BIG EAST Championship. The tourney seeing and bracket will be determined on Monday.
