
Eichhorn, Leach and Lyons are All-BIG EAST

Eichhorn and Leach were each named to the first team, while Lyons was on the second
PINE MOUNTAIN, Georgia - Marquette University men's golfers Hunter Eichhorn and Tyler Leach were each named to the 2021-22 All-BIG EAST Conference Men's Golf First Team, while Max Lyons earned second team honors, the league announced on Monday morning.
Eichhorn is a first team selection for the fourth time in his career and the reigning BIG EAST medalist.The Carney, Michigan native won the conference tournament as a freshman in addition to last year, and is a two-time BIG EAST Player of the Year. He earned four BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week honors during 2021-22 and had five top-10 individual finishes, including four of the five events this spring.
Eichhorn has posted rounds of par-or-better in 22 of 29 rounds this season and notched a Marquette record with an 11-under 61 in the final round of the Puerto Rico Classic on Feb. 15 at Grand Reserve Golf Club. His 54-hole score of 203 (-13) in Puerto Rico was also a personal low. He finished as MU's No. 1 golfer at the last eight events (8-of-10 this season) and is the only BIG EAST golfer inside the Golfstat top 100.Â

Leach, a redshirt junior, is a first team selection for the first time in his career after second team honors as a freshman in 2018-19. He is second on the Golden Eagles with a 72.31 stroke per round scoring average and fished third at last week's Wildcat Spring Invitational. The Spring Valley, Wisconsin native has posted five rounds in the 60s this year and 15 rounds of par-or-better, the No. 2 mark on MU.
Lyons began his rookie season as Marquette's top finisher at its first two events of the year, including the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills over Labor Day weekend. He owns the MU freshman record for total strokes (205) and strokes against par (-11) from the Puerto Rico Classic this spring. The Phoenix native has a 72.72 stroke scoring average as a rookie and is second on MU with seven rounds in the 60s.
