Track & Field Resumes Season at DePaul

MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's and women's track & field team resumes the 2022-23 Indoor season Friday at DePaul with the Blue Demon Alumni Classic.

The Golden Eagles return to Gately Park where they last competed prior to the winter break. The BIG EAST Indoor Championship site will host 12 teams this weekend: Marquette, Chicago State, Illinois-Chicago, Eastern Illinois, Loyola, Millikin, Northwestern, Northern Illinois, St. Louis, St. Thomas, UW-La Crosse and Valparaiso.

Action at DePaul will begin at 2 p.m. CT with the field events. Live results for the meet can be found here.

LAST TIME OUT
MU last saw competition on Dec. 9 at the Blue Demon Holiday Invite. Marquette recorded 28 personal bests and added two names to the top 10 all-time lists.

Daylee Braden finished second in the 300 meters (40.76) and third in the 400 meters (57.42) Braden's time in the 300 meters is a personal best and ranks fifth all-time at MU.
Carol Ludington finished first overall in the 800 meters with a meet record and personal best of 2:22.37. Stephanie Mauzer (2:26.89) and Emily Capper (2:28.73) finished second and third in the event, respectively.
Annika Bynum Earned runner-up honors in the high jump by clearing a personal best mark of 1.71 meters/5 feet, 7.25 inches. Bynum's mark is good for ninth in program history.
In the triple jump, Marquis Ward took second with a jump of 14.19 meters/46 feet, 6.75 inches.
The men's 4x400 relay team of Zachariah Murray, Cade Ferron, Mitchell Van Vooren and Julian Wright took second overall with a time of 3:25.80.

NEXT UP
Marquette will head to Grand Valley State University for the Bill Clinger Classic on Jan. 27-28.
