Series With Seton Hall Dates Back To 1956

  Â
SHU opened the series with a 96-78 victory over Marquette on March 17, 1956 in MU's first-ever appearance in the National Invitation Tournament in New York. The next meeting wouldn't come until 50 years later when Marquette moved to the BIG EAST.
  Â
The Golden Eagles claimed an 83-69 win on Dec. 27 at Fiserv Forum in the first meeting this season. Â Oso Ighodaro led three players in double figures with 16 points and also grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Kam Jones Helps MU Hold Off Friars
  Â
Sophomore guard Kam Jones scored 18 of his game-high 21 points in the second half as the Golden Eagles held off No. 22 Providence, 83-75, Wednesday night.
  Â
The Memphis native finished 8-of-14 from the floor, including a 4-of-8 effort from deep, in 32 minutes of action. Â He also found time to chip in four rebounds, three steals and three assists. Â Jones's 21 points was his best total in seven games (24 at Providence in 2OT on Dec. 20).
  Â
With the victory over No. 22 Providence, Marquette is now 3-1 on the year against top-25 opponents and 9-7 (4-1 vs. top-10) under head coach Shaka Smart. Â The Friars were Marquette's third-straight nationally ranked opponent (No. 6 UConn and No. 12 Xavier).
  Â
Marquette is ranked 20th in the latest Associated Press Top-25 Poll, its highest ranking since a season-best 18th last season on Feb. 7, 2022.
