
Cross Country Set to Co-Host BIG EAST Championship

First BIG EAST Championship of the Season Set for Oct. 28th in Kenosha
KENOSHA, Wis. – The 2023 BIG EAST Cross Country Championship, presented by JEEP, will be held this Saturday, Oct. 28th at Wayne Dannehl Course in Kenosha. This marks the fourth time Marquette University has co-hosted the conference's cross country championship.
Championship Saturday begins with the men's 8K race at 11:00 a.m. CT, followed by the women's 6K at 11:50 a.m. CT. An awards presentation will take place at 12:40 p.m. CT.
The men's cross country team is coming off their best outing of the fall, placing fifth at the Platte River Rumble hosted by Creighton. The team is led by a pair of seniors in David Zeller and Dan Weizeorick. Weizorick finished inside the top-20 in two of his three fall events, while Zeller paced the Golden Eagles in his last race, finished a fall-best 14th individually.
The women are led by senior Lexi Keppler, who finished 24th in her last race with a personal best time of 22:57.0 at the Platte River Rumble. The Milwaukee native led the Golden Eagles in every race this fall. Freshmen Emma Coon and Brinley Everson finished second and third for MU in Omaha, both with personal best times.
The women's and men's cross country championship races will be streamed live on the BIG EAST Digital Network available on FloSports, presented by Invesco QQQ.
Marquette XC alumni are invited to a post competition outing on Saturday. After the official practice round Friday, the team will be at Land of Giants Pumpkin Patch at 2 p.m. CT. if you are unable to make the races Saturday.

Parking for teams & spectators is located in the Sports and Activities Center & Communication Arts lots east of the course. Parking is not permitted in any of the Petrifying Spring parking lots.
Tickets
General admission to all sessions will be $5 for adults, while a discount will be applied for seniors (60+) and children (3-17) for $3. Students from BIG EAST Conference institutions are free to attend. Tickets can be purchased HERE, or collected at the gate which is located just west of the parking lots.
