2023 campaign concludes with loss in regular-season finale
The Marquette University women's soccer team (5-10-4, 2-6-2 BIG EAST) wrapped up the 2023 season with a 3-0 loss at No. 17/25 Xavier (13-2-4, 6-0-4 BIG EAST) Thursday night in BIG EAST action on the road.

The setback officially ended the year for Marquette, which entered the contest in contention for the sixth and final spot in the conference tournament.

The Musketeers, who earned a share of the BIG EAST regular season title with the win, finished the night with a 27-10 advantage in total shots (9-3 on goal). Marquette's Mikki Easter, who is ranked among the league leaders in saves per game, finished the night with six stops.

Marquette trailed 2-0 at the intermission, but had a chance to tie the score at 1-1 midway through the first half. Caroline Cline's header hit the crossbar after the XU keeper just got a hand on the ball and Alexa Maletis' follow-up shot from six yards away was cleared off the line by a Musketeer defender.
