Cross Country Heads to Madison for Great Lakes Regional

MADISON, Wis. – The Marquette University men's and women's cross country teams head to Madison for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday, Nov. 10.

The Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course, the site of the 2018 and 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships, will host this year's NCAA Great Lakes Regional, which consists of a 6k race for the women and a 10k race for the men.

The women will race at 11:30 a.m. CT with the men to follow at 12:30 p.m. CT.

Marquette opened its 2023 season at the Madison Opener in September at the Thomas Zimmer Championship course. The men took sixth in the 8k race while the women placed seventh in the 6k.

Senior captain Dan Weizeorick paced the Golden Eagles, finishing first for MU with a time of 25:44.2. For the women's side, senior captain Lexi Keppler finished first for Golden Eagles with a time of 20:27.5.

Last time out, the men and women hosted the BIG EAST Cross Country Championship on Oct. 28 at the Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha. The men placed eighth, and the women placed 10th in the conference championship.

The top seven finishers from the BIG EAST Championship on the men's and women's side will head to Madison.

There is no spectator parking at the cross country course or University Ridge. Spectator parking will be located at Blackhawk Church in Middleton, Wisconsin. A map of the parking layout is available here.
