
Golden Eagles Wrap Up Meets at GVSU and Indiana

Five Golden Eagles make the top 10 all-time lists
BLOOMINGTON, Indiana – The Marquette University men's and women's track & field team completed action at the GVSU Big Meet and Hoosier Hills Invitational Friday evening.
Several Golden Eagles achieved personal bests and cracked the top 10 all-time list as the team begins to ramp up toward the BIG EAST Indoor Championships.
"I feel like the team is rounding into shape and we're starting to hit our stride," said head coach Bert Rogers. "The group competed hard and set a bunch of marks on the top 10 all-time list."
GVSU Big Meet
Members of the MU distance team made the trip to Allendale, Michigan to compete in the Big Meet.
In the men's 3000m, Dan Weizeorick moved up the top-10 all-time list at Marquette. Previously seventh all-time, Weizeorick moved up to No. 4 in MU history after rolling to a new personal best time of 8:17.68. David Zeller finished first in his heat with a time of 8:22.73, finishing just seven-tenths of a second behind his personal best.
In the 600 meters, Mitchell Van Vooren cruised to a first-place finish in a personal best time of 1:20.81. Van Vooren's time puts him at No. 7 all-time in school history. Cade Ferron earned the bronze with a PR of 1:21.45.
On the women's side of the 600m, senior Emily Noone earned runner-up honors while setting a new personal best with a time of 1:36.11. Noone's PR puts her No. 10 all-time in school history. Kate Jochims (1:39.74), Carol Luddington (1:41.72) and Lexi Keppler (1:46.77) also turned in personal best times.
Hoosier Hills Invitational
The remainder of the big team made their way to Indiana for an afternoon of competition.
Sophomore Annika Bynum claimed her second first-place finish in the high jump this season, clearing a mark of 1.67 meters / 5 feet, 5.75 inches. Emma Ludwig took fourth with her second-best mark of the season, clearing 1.61 meters / 5 feet, 3.25 inches. Harry Baker took fourth for men, making it over the bar at 1.96 meters / 6 feet, 5 inches.
Sophomore jumper Kaylee Hopp broke her personal best in the triple jump for the second meet in a row. This time Hopp recorded a mark of 11.76 meters / 38 feet, 7 inches to take third in the event. Her mark ranks seventh all-time at MU and currently ranks fifth best in the BIG EAST.
In the 600 meters, Zachariah Murray added another top-10 mark to his resume with a personal best time of 1:21.20. Murray took fourth overall. Fellow Golden Eagles, Jadon Conroy (1:24.90) and Nathan Hirsh (1:25.66) crossed the line in personal best times as well.
The 4x400 relay team of Daylee Braden, Morgan Parzych, Katie Dingle and Juru Okwaramoi took second place with a time of 3:54.72. Braden also earned the silver medal in the 400 meters with a time of 57.57.

MU travels to Madison on Friday, Feb. 17 for the Bader Invitational and the final meet before the BIG EAST Indoor Championships.
