NOTRE DAME – The Marquette University men's lacrosse team fell to No. 2/3 Notre Dame, 21-10, on Wednesday afternoon at the Loftus Sports Center in Notre Dame, Indiana.
Bobby O'Grady paced the Golden Eagles (1-2) with four goals, while six other players also scored. Fellow attackman Jake Stegman scored a goal and posted a team-best four assists for MU.
The Fighting Irish (1-0) jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never trailed, eventually building a 11-2 lead early in the second quarter. Chris Kavanagh and Jeffery Ricciardelli each led ND with five goals, while Pat Kavanagh dished out six assists.

The Golden Eagles have the weekend off before resuming non-conference action against Michigan at the Southwest Florida Shootout in Naples, Florida on Saturday, Feb. 25.

NOTABLE:Â
- The Golden Eagles fall to 0-11 all-time against Notre Dame and are 0-7 in games played on ND's campus.
- Wednesday's game marked the first time the two squads have met inside the Loftus Sports Center, where the Irish have now won 22-straight games.
- MU defenseman Mason Woodward scored his third goal in as many games this season. He's now scored more goals in three games this season (3) than he had in his first 21 contests (2).
- Woodward posted four ground balls and a caused turnover on Wednesday to push him into a tie for fourth in MU history in ground balls with Noah Richard (163) and into second by himself in caused turnovers (56).
- O'Grady is now up to 60 career goals in just 18 games to begin his career. He's tied with teammate Devon Cowan for sixth in program history in that category.
- O'Grady owns the eighth-longest goal scoring streak in the country at 18 games and is one of just four players to have scored in every career game with at least 15 appearances.
