MU splits weekend action in Omaha
OMAHA, Neb. - The Marquette University women's tennis team (6-10) takes narrow 4-3 decision Saturday afternoon over Nebraska - Omaha (5-14).
The Mavericks opened the match with 6-4 wins at the No. 1 and 2 positions to take the doubles point and score first.
The Golden Eagles were able to rally back to take the team decision in singles play, starting with Nicole Hopman earning a straight set victory at No. 6.
Senior Elizabeth Ferdman was able to take a singles win in three sets at the No. 5 spot (6-4, 3-6, 6-2)
Sarah Badawi played the No. 3 position for her second time this season for the Golden Eagles and earned a tie-break victory (5-7, 6-2, 6-4).
Senior Elisabeth Desmarais clinched the team's decision at the No. 2 spot with a straight set (7-6, 6-3) victory over Keegan VanPelt.
