MU claims first victory of the season

PITTSBURG, Pa. – The Marquette University men's golf team won the Redhawk Intercollegiate to claim its first victory of the season. MU finished 20-over par for the tournament (872).
The Golden Eagles went wire-to-wire at the Pittsburgh Field Club and won by 4-strokes.
Sophomore Max Lyons paced the Golden Eagles with a 4-over par performance. Lyons turned in a final round 3-over 74 to finish eighth. It is Lyons's second-best finish of the season.
Nicolás Evangelio, Tyler Leach and Bhoom Sima-Aree matched Lyons with final round scores of 74. Evangelio and Sima-Aree matched each other's scores in all three rounds to finish 5-over and tie for ninth. Leach finished tied for 13th at 7-over par.
This marks Evangelio's sixth top-10 finish of the season.
Josh Robinson had the low round of the day for MU with a 2-over par 73.
Playing as an individual, freshman Will Hemauer led the field in birdies with 15 for the tournament. Hemauer finished 15-over par for the tournament.

MU will take on Loyola Maryland at Anne Arundel Manor on Sunday. Apr. 23. Then MU will head to Riverton Pointe Country Club in Hardeeville, South Carolina for the BIG EAST Championships on Apr. 28-30.
